Description

Park Dreamway Tulip Bulbs

Some tulips save all their impact for the flowers. Park Dreamway starts the display earlier, sending up broad green leaves decorated with deep purple markings before its brilliant blooms open. The warm orange to scarlet-red flowers carry flashes of yellow towards the base, bringing rich colour to the garden at the beginning of the tulip season.

This compact Fosteriana tulip is especially effective where it can be seen closely: beside a path, at the front of a sunny border or planted generously in patio containers. Its sturdy, relatively short stems cope well with typical spring weather, while the boldly patterned foliage continues to provide interest around the flowers.

Why Gardeners Love Park Dreamway

  • Early spring impact: vivid warm-coloured flowers arrive before many taller tulips.
  • Decorative foliage: purple-streaked leaves make the plant attractive even before flowering.
  • Compact and versatile: excellent in containers, rock gardens and border fronts.
  • Premium bulb grade: supplied as substantial 11/12cm bulbs for a strong first-season display.

Creating the Best Display

Plant Park Dreamway in bold groups rather than isolated bulbs. Ten bulbs make an attractive pot; larger packs create a much stronger ribbon or drift through the border. Pair it with cream daffodils or blue muscari to emphasise its fiery colouring, or repeat it through several containers for a coordinated entrance display.

Planting Park Dreamway

Plant from October to December in full sun and fertile, freely drained soil. Set bulbs pointed end upwards, approximately 10–12cm deep and 8–10cm apart. Containers need generous drainage holes and a free-draining compost, as tulips dislike sitting in cold, waterlogged soil.

After flowering, remove faded heads but leave the foliage until it turns yellow and dies back naturally. This allows the bulb to rebuild its energy for the following year. Flower colour and height may vary slightly with soil, weather and growing conditions.

Planting & Care

When & Where to Plant

Plant from October to December in full sun and fertile, freely drained soil. Park Dreamway is particularly effective in pots, beside paths and at the front of borders, where its decorative purple-marked foliage can be appreciated.

Spacing & Depth

  • Plant bulbs pointed end upwards, approximately 10–12cm deep.
  • Allow 8–10cm between bulbs.
  • For containers, plant more closely for a fuller display, while ensuring the pot drains freely.

Care & After Flowering

Water after planting if the soil is dry and keep containers from becoming waterlogged. After flowering, remove faded blooms but leave the foliage until it has yellowed and died back naturally. Fosteriana tulips can return well when grown in a sunny, well-drained position.

Delivery & Bulb Info

Dispatch & Delivery

Flower bulbs are dispatched during the autumn planting season. Where possible, items from the same order will be grouped into one delivery.

Quality & Storage

Your bulbs are carefully sourced, graded and packed by Patch. Plant promptly after arrival. If necessary, keep unopened bulbs briefly in a cool, dry, airy place away from frost, heat and direct sunlight.

What You Will Receive

The pack size selected above refers to the number of bulbs supplied. Bulb grade is measured around the circumference; a larger grade generally contains greater stored energy for the first season.
