Description

Salmon Symbiose Tulip Bulbs

Premium 11/12 Salmon Symbiose bulbs. Luxurious double blooms open in salmon-pink and rose tones, deepening attractively as they mature. Typically flowering in April and reaching around 40–45cm. Excellent for borders, containers and cut-flower displays.

The display

Salmon-pink and rose tones deepen as the full double blooms mature, creating the look of a small peony on a tulip stem. Group it where the changing colour can be appreciated, or cut a few stems for generous spring arrangements.

Why you’ll love it

  • Flower colour: Salmon pink
  • Flowering time: Early season, usually April
  • Height: Approximately 40–45cm
  • Best for: Borders, containers and cut flowers
  • Bulb grade: 11/12cm
  • Hardiness: Hardy in freely drained soil

Planting advice

Plant during October–December with the growing point uppermost where it is visible. Set the bulbs or corms approximately 10–15cm deep and 10cm apart. Choose full sun; sheltered position preferred in fertile, freely drained soil. Water after planting if the soil is dry, but avoid ground that remains waterlogged.

Aftercare

After flowering, remove spent flower heads and leave the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. In heavy or wet ground, lifting and storing the bulbs dry after the foliage fades can improve repeat performance.

What you’ll receive

Healthy planting stock in 11/12cm grade, carefully packed by Patch and ready for autumn planting. Available pack sizes: 10 bulbs, 25 bulbs, 50 bulbs, 100 bulbs.

Please note: Ornamental bulbs and corms are not for eating. The bulbs are supplied dormant; natural marks on the outer skin are normal. Flowering time, height and colour intensity can vary with local weather, soil and growing conditions.

Planting & Care

When & Where to Plant

Plant from October into December in a sunny, sheltered position. Later autumn planting is particularly suitable for tulips because cooler soil helps reduce disease risk. Use fertile, freely drained soil and avoid ground that remains wet in winter.

Spacing & Depth

  • Plant pointed end upwards at 10–15cm deep.
  • Allow 10cm between bulbs; closer spacing gives a fuller container display.
  • Plant in groups or drifts rather than isolated single bulbs.

Containers

Use a container with generous drainage holes and a free-draining compost. Plant more closely than in the border, but keep bulbs from touching. Containers must not stand waterlogged over winter.

Variety-specific Advice

Salmon Symbiose is a double-early tulip whose salmon-pink blooms deepen as they mature. Shelter the full flowers from severe weather and plant in bold groups for a coordinated display.

After Flowering

Remove faded flower heads if seed is not required, but leave all foliage in place until it turns yellow and dies back naturally. This replenishes the bulb for the following year. Double tulips are best protected from severe wind and rain.

Delivery & Bulb Info

Dispatch & Delivery

Flower bulbs are dispatched during the autumn planting season. Where possible, items from the same order will be grouped into one delivery.

Quality & Storage

Your bulbs are carefully sourced, graded and packed by Patch. Plant promptly after arrival. If necessary, keep unopened bulbs briefly in a cool, dry, airy place away from frost, heat and direct sunlight.

What You Will Receive

The pack size selected above refers to the number of bulbs or corms supplied. Bulb grade is measured around the circumference; a larger grade generally contains greater stored energy for the first season.
