Lily Rose Seed Potatoes
From £6.99
A striking red-skinned, red-fleshed Second Early with firm texture, attractive shallow-eyed tubers and good storage—grown as much for colour as for eating quality.
Description
Lily Rose is a modern coloured-flesh potato that produces regular oval tubers with vivid red-pink skin and red flesh. The colour makes it an obvious choice for mixed potato dishes, salads and homemade chips where visual impact matters.
The flesh is firm rather than floury, with a sweet, nutty character reported by specialist suppliers, so boiling and steaming are natural uses. It can also make colourful home fries or chips. The original Patch notes about attractive presentation and storage are worth retaining: this is not simply a novelty colour, but a usable table potato that stores well.

Planting & Growing
Chit seed potatoes in a cool, bright, frost-free place if you want to encourage an earlier start. Plant from March into April once soil conditions are suitable.
Plant approximately 10–15cm deep, allowing about 30cm between tubers and around 60cm between rows. Earth up developing shoots to keep tubers covered and maintain an even water supply while tubers are forming.
Variety-specific advice: To preserve colour, avoid overcooking. Grow as a Second Early and begin checking from early summer; uniform moisture helps develop smooth, well-shaped tubers.
Harvest: Begin checking from early to mid-summer, depending on planting date and conditions.
