A four-variety daffodil collection combining Dutch Master, Sir Winston Churchill, Red Devon and Golden Dawn. Expect a varied early-to-mid spring display of classic trumpets, doubles, fragrance and warm yellow-orange colour.

The display

Why you’ll love it

  • Flower colour: Yellow, cream, white and orange
  • Flowering time: Early to mid-spring
  • Height: Approximately 35–50cm

  • Bulb grade: Mixed premium grades
  • Hardiness: Hardy; varieties vary from H4 to H6

Planting advice

Plant during September–November. For the most natural display, loosen the soil thoroughly and distribute the bulbs in informal groups rather than straight rows. Where the collection contains different bulb types, follow the stated depth range and place the larger bulbs deepest, with smaller bulbs or corms nearer the surface. Choose full sun or partial shade in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Water after planting if the soil is dry, but avoid ground that remains waterlogged.

Aftercare

After flowering, remove spent blooms if desired and leave the foliage in place for at least six weeks, or until it yellows naturally. Established clumps can be divided when flowering begins to decline.

What you’ll receive

Healthy planting stock in Mixed premium grades, carefully packed by Patch and ready for autumn planting. Available pack sizes: 25, 50, 100, 300.

Please note: Ornamental bulbs and corms are not for eating. The bulbs are supplied dormant; natural marks on the outer skin are normal. Flowering time, height and colour intensity can vary with local weather, soil and growing conditions.

Planting & Care

When & Where to Plant

Plant from September to November in full sun or partial shade. Choose moderately fertile soil that stays reasonably moist in spring but drains well through winter.

Spacing & Depth

  • Plant pointed end upwards at 10–15cm deep.
  • Allow 10–15cm between bulbs.
  • For natural-looking displays, scatter bulbs and plant them where they fall.

Containers & Naturalising

Daffodils grow well in pots, borders and grass. In lawns, delay mowing until the foliage has yellowed and died back. Avoid permanently wet sites.

Variety-specific Advice

This collection contains Dutch Master, Sir Winston Churchill, Red Devon and Golden Dawn. Mix the bulbs before planting for a staggered display of trumpets, doubles and fragrant multi-headed flowers.

After Flowering

Deadhead spent blooms, but do not cut or tie the leaves. Allow at least six weeks for the foliage to die back naturally. Congested clumps can be lifted and divided after flowering.

Delivery & Bulb Info

Dispatch & Delivery

Flower bulbs are dispatched during the autumn planting season. Where possible, items from the same order will be grouped into one delivery.

Quality & Storage

Your bulbs are carefully sourced, graded and packed by Patch. Plant promptly after arrival. If necessary, keep unopened bulbs briefly in a cool, dry, airy place away from frost, heat and direct sunlight.

What You Will Receive

The pack size selected above refers to the number of bulbs or corms supplied. Bulb grade is measured around the circumference; a larger grade generally contains greater stored energy for the first season.
