Description

Ballymakenny Belle de Fontenay potatoes

A classic French heritage variety, grown at Ballymakenny Farm near Drogheda. Belle de Fontenay brings firm, waxy flesh and a fine flavour to the table: a lovely choice when you want the potato itself to be the highlight.

Its elongated tubers have pale yellow skin and light yellow flesh. The firm cooked texture makes it particularly suited to potato salads and simple side dishes where you want neat pieces that hold their shape.

Simple cooking, plenty of character

Boil gently or steam until tender, then finish with butter, parsley and a little seasoning. For a warm salad, slice the cooked potatoes and toss with a mustard dressing and chopped chives. A useful choice for serving alongside fish, roast chicken or a summer salad.

Choose Belle de Fontenay for its firm salad texture rather than the fluffy finish of a floury potato.
