Organic Peter Pan Seed Potatoes
From £7.99
A maincrop with very strong late blight resistance and a delicious, easy-cooking AB texture. Its good dry matter gives this salad-friendly potato a fuller flavour and satisfying bite.
Description
Peter Pan is a potato with a rare combination: very strong late blight resistance in the garden and a really enjoyable potato on the plate.
Its AB cooking type sits between a firm salad potato and a more versatile all-rounder. Peter Pan holds together well when boiled, making it a natural choice for salads, steaming and simple boiled potatoes. Its good dry matter gives it a fuller flavour and satisfying texture, so it is as enjoyable to eat as it is easy to cook. Larger tubers are also well suited to French fries.
Peter Pan is a maincrop with yellow skin and flesh, rounded-oval tubers and shallow eyes. If blight has been a recurring frustration in your garden, its very strong resistance makes it a particularly worthwhile variety to grow. Resistance is not immunity, so it is still sensible to keep an eye on crops during prolonged wet weather.
Why grow Peter Pan?
- Maturity: Maincrop
- Cooking type: AB — between a firm salad potato and a versatile all-rounder
- Best for: Salads, boiling, steaming and French fries from larger tubers
- Skin: Yellow
- Flesh: Yellow
- Tuber shape: Rounded oval
- Texture: Holds its shape, with good dry matter and a satisfying bite
Growing note: Peter Pan is a maincrop, so allow it a longer growing season than an early potato. Its very strong late blight resistance is a valuable advantage, though regular crop checks are still worthwhile in damp conditions.

Planting & Growing
Chit seed potatoes in a cool, bright, frost-free place if you want to encourage an earlier start. Plant from March into April once soil conditions are suitable.
Plant approximately 10–15cm deep, allowing 30–35cm between tubers and around 75cm between rows. Earth up developing shoots to keep tubers covered and maintain an even water supply while tubers are forming.
Variety-specific advice: Peter Pan is a maincrop, so allow it a longer growing season than an early potato. Its very strong late blight resistance is a valuable advantage, though regular crop checks are still worthwhile in damp conditions.
Harvest: Begin checking from late summer, depending on planting date and conditions.
