Red Baron Onion Sets
Red Baron is a classic RHS Award of Garden Merit red onion, prized for its deep colour, strong flavour and good storage ability. The richly coloured bulbs are excellent both raw and cooked, making Red Baron a useful choice for salads, burgers and sandwiches as well as roasting, frying and general cooking.

Planting Advice
Autumn or Spring Planting
This variety can be planted in autumn or spring. Autumn planting gives an earlier crop; spring planting is useful where winter soil is heavy or prone to waterlogging.
- Autumn: September–November.
- Spring: February–April.
- Spacing: 10–15cm between sets and 20–30cm between rows.
- Depth: pointed tip just showing above the surface.
Care
Grow in full sun, keep weed-free and water in prolonged dry spells while bulbs are swelling. Avoid freshly manured or waterlogged soil.
Harvest & Storage
Lift when foliage yellows and topples naturally. Cure thoroughly in a dry, airy place before storage.
